DEVOUR V: IN TE PEREO #5

Oil on canvas 12x16" (physical included at list 0.420Ξ ) Week 5 of DEVOUR: a year-long project of reading and responding by Rocketgirl. This painting is an abstract reflection on the book 'Wuthering Heights' (Emily Brontë). "He's more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same." — Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights DEVOUR V: IN TE PEREO interprets the emotional residue of the book rather than its narrative - the heaviness, the hidden knowledge, the quiet rupture between loving and being consumed. The work offers a gesture toward the moment when another person becomes indistinguishable from the self.
