Thanks to @POTUS’s leadership, ten Americans who were detained in Venezuela are on their way to freedom. I want to thank my team at the @StateDept & especially President @nayibbukele for helping secure an agreement for the release of all of our American detainees, plus the release of Venezuelan political prisoners.

Today the U.S. rejected the 2024 amendments to the International Health Regulations, delivering on the Trump Administration’s promise to fight for Americans in the international system. @StateDept and @HHSGov are working together to ensure our national sovereign right to make health policy is dictated by the values and will of the American people and not by unelected global actors.

The Cuban regime continues to torture pro-democracy activist José Daniel Ferrer. The United States demands immediate proof of life and the release of all political prisoners.

Thirty years ago, the U.S. and Vietnam began a remarkable journey from former foes to Comprehensive Strategic Partners. Today, we recognize this important milestone and reaffirm our commitment to advancing peace, prosperity, and security together for a free and open Indo-Pacific.

Spoke with my counterparts at the 15th annual East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers’ Meeting about ways our partnerships can continue making America safer and more secure. Addressed the threats in the region and talked about building prosperity by creating high-quality jobs for our people on both sides of the Indo-Pacific.
