If enough eth validators were owned by public ethereum treasury companies (~20% of total eth supply), you could 51% attack the public equities (ie take majority control, many ways to achieve that via capital markets)- and you'd have governance control over ethereum. In other words securities law would become eth's consensus mechanism.

Quick update: We received additional round of comments and clarifications from SEC on Wednesday, all in response to our most recent revisions. Minor but fair. We had a constructive call with them yesterday to clarify their comments. We refiled our amended information statement late last night. Fingers crossed this is last turn🤞 We’re very close and we feel immense pressure to close as soon as possible. While we are in this quiet period we are working hard to prepare for go time and I can’t wait to share updates on our actual business progress. Appreciate everyone’s patience and support- we will get this done 💪
