Crypto Founder's Guide to Hiring (and Firing) Marketers:
Step 1: Raise $25M, flex your commitment to growth by posting a $500K marketing role
*CT celebrates you*
Step 2: Hire marketer. Tweet about your team landing world-class talent
Step 3: Chart goes red four weeks later. Panic ensues and you contemplate pivoting to AI, gaming, or literally anything else
Step 4: You quietly lay off your marketer & mention market conditions in the goodbye message:
"It's not you, it's BTC"
Step 5: Shitpost about paying $500K for a marketer who didn't move the needle
*CT spends weeks dunking on marketers*
Step 6: Wait six months. Repeat from Step 1, posting another $500K role
CT once again celebrates your bold investment in growth
Meanwhile, marketers are trapped in an endless cycle:
- Earn $500K/year on paper
- Actually employed for two months, take home <$80K/year
- Spend the next six months trying to find work
- Repeat until you leave crypto entirely
Top agencies refuse to work with projects without minimum-term contracts
Maybe it's time crypto marketers demanded the same

always. be. learning.
marketing is an ever-changing industry and it’s important to be learning.
every day i listen to podcasts/audiobooks or spend time reading about the latest marketing info/trends.
but i haven’t done a formal course in maybe 2 years.
i’m mostly self taught or had the privilege to have good mentors, having only ever done 2-3 courses in my ~9yrs in marketing, but see the benefits in courses and a more “formal” way to learn.
and when i saw @Safaryclub had a marketing course geared specifically towards crypto marketing, i decided to jump on it.
whilst i've been in crypto marketing for ~5yrs, there are things i can always still learn. even if i only take away 1 thing, the course is worth it for me.
i'm not paid to post this and the goal of this post is not to get you to jump on their course. but, instead, show you that for you to be successful in marketing, you need to become a forever student.
whether it's free (podcasts, youtube, etc.) or paid (courses, mentorships, etc.) the most important thing you can do for your career is to always be learning.
