Building a "Bitcoin-only" L2 isn't principled, it's actually a self-imposed handicap. Here at @build_on_bob we are pragmatists. We use Bitcoin for what it is unmatched in—security. We also use the EVM for what it is best at—DeFi.

There are many indicators why Bitcoin will surpass Ethereum in DeFi TVL, and few why it won't. All that is needed is optimal infrastruture that allows for the best of Bitcoin and Ethereum to operate harmoniously under one user-friendly roof. Meeting the strict demands of both user bases is the key to unlocking DeFi on Bitcoin.

BTC and ETH pumping Validates the hybrid thesis

Many L1/L2 teams are slow to launch, spending crazy amounts of resources on marketing and clout vs product. BOB is different. We ship, fast. Try things, break, improve, ship again. Over and over. -> We have achieved far more over-funded teams, faster and with lower spend.

BitVM3 is getting real! Massive improvements over BitVM2. Next step is to get the offchain data and computation efficient enough for production. BOB will still be pushing to get BitVM2 live first since it's close to audit completion and "efficient" enough for a Bitcoin bridge with maximum Bitcoin security.
