I wish this were not true and it pains me to say it, but I am resolved to speak the truth on things even when I dislike it: the Chinese AI models are vastly superior to any model put out by American AI labs and it’s not even close. The prose is eloquent and beautiful. The ability to follow instructions and complete the task is superior. Oh and they are open source. I was told that we needed to flood my country with foreigners so we could beat China in the AI race—yet their homogenous society is kicking our multicultural ass right now. We need to put our best and brightest White engineers who have been locked out of Silicon Valley in favor of cheap foreign labor for decades in the game.
