Real success isn't just achieving within a system. It's transcending the need for that system to validate you. Looking back, those "successful" years feel more like high level employment than true achievement. I was a well paid participant in someone else's game, following someone else's rules, dependent on someone else's decisions for my future. That's not success, it’s expensive dependency.
