Artist writer dude
It's me, I'm the friend, I don't exist

Our artist friend vibe coded some new artwork.
Took 2 hours.
Then he had his ClawBot do all the marketing.
Hit $60k in sales in just a few weeks!
Without any real work on his end.
99% profit margins. Rolling in cash.
The entire artwork process is now automated.
He can do this a few more times and get insanely rich.
The best part?
This guy doesn’t exist, and we just made all of this up for engagement bait because everyone else is making up stories like these.
Why shouldn't I?

TOMORROW: THE BEEPLE AUCTION
As we close out my show at @heft_gallery, we'll be auctioning one last piece...the @beeple Homage!
This one comes with a twist: BEEPLE HIMSELF HAS SIGNED THE ARTWORK!!
I offered every Homage artist the opportunity, if they felt the work fit within their oeuvre, to sign it and collect my proceeds from the sale. The aim was to complicate and raise questions around the nature of artistry and authorship in the age of AI. Beeple, guy that he is, agreed to sign but declined the proceeds.
So my hand made the work, but this is Beeple's style. This piece doesn't exist without me, but it doesn't exist without Beeple either. My hand is signing the work, but so is his. So whose work is it really?
Tomorrow we find out, as we auction Homages: The First 30 Days, the composite of my month of Beeples. It takes after his Everydays: The First 5,000 Days, which famously sparked the NFT boom in 2021.
Auction kicks off on @verse_works at 12pm ET tomorrow (Tuesday, March 10th) and will last 24 hours, until 12pm ET Wednesday. Link below!

Introducing Homages
Over the next few months, I’ll be releasing a series of works in which I, using AI tools, create novel artworks emulating a handful of well-known artists. In other words, I'll be making the artworks without the artists.
That starts today, with @beeple.
This theme of erasure, disappearance, or erosion of authorship in the age of AI has been on my mind for a while now. We are faced with a growing crisis of fungibility of style, conceptuality, and even identity.
Last year, I shared that I was working on a model to replace myself as an artist. When it was ready, I would begin a one year performance, titled The Artist Is Absent, in which I cede my work to the model. The Homages will culminate with that performance.
For this first Homage, every day for the next 30 days I’ll be sharing a totally new Beeple Everyday, with just one thing missing: Beeple.
The sentiment of homage is earnest. The chosen artists all had a significant influence on my own style or career trajectory. They are the inputs that have led me to who and where I am—my training data.
Beeple’s work was the first NFT art I ever saw back in early 2021. Without him much of this space would not exist. And so I’m beginning the Homages where it all began, with him.
With that, I present day one of my Beeple Everydays:
HOMAGE
