Those who knew me before know that I'm quite good at playing with altcoins, but that Twitter account has been banned. Altcoins can be played, but they aren't very useful due to limited capacity. You can make money, but I'm too lazy to do it. Spending time on ten altcoins isn't as good as having a sufficient position in high liquidity varieties, where high liquidity makes it less likely to experience slippage and congestion. Everyone around me can get in on that. With altcoins, I basically play with very small positions; the time invested yields too low a return. Unless you create a hot topic similar to $myx or $coai, you can make some money, but otherwise, it's just hard-earned cash.
