i've reviewed ~1,000 portfolio websites so far for founding designers
~3% don't open
~20% of all portfolio website are not responsive
~ 95% of all portfolios have at least one rlly shit project
thoughts:
if a project is NOT excellent, remove it.
1 good project > 10 shit ones

im tripling the base salary for founding designers @cluely
250-350k cash + equity to be really good at figma
i've also removed every single field in the application except "link to portfolio"
please be world class
what makes a project shit?
not sure, im not a designer, but as a viewer:
> tbh, inter semibold h1. feels very AI
> misuse of padding/spacing in buttons (usually too much)
> inconsistent colors/border radius/design system
> a b2b site that feels like a spreadsheet app
