Dear pro-Israel trolls. Your understanding of geography and politics is woeful. Here are some elementary lessons. 1. Gaza is not the whole of the State of Palestine. The West Bank (incl. East Jerusalem) is bigger both in area and population. 2. Hamas does not govern the West Bank. 3. Hamas is not the government of the State of Palestine.

4. The government of the State of Palestine had nothing to do with the 10/7 attacks, and nor has it been involved in the war in Gaza. 5. The people of the West Bank and East Jerusalem had nothing to do with the 10/7 attacks, and their only "involvement" with the war in Gaza is the increase in unprovoked attacks on them by Israeli settlers and the IDF since 10/7.

6. The State of Palestine claims as its territory the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip. It does not claim any of the pre-1967 territory of Israel. 7. The State of Palestine has long been committed to the co-existence of two peaceful, secure, sovereign states.

8. In 2017, Hamas accepted a two-state solution as a transitional measure, but refused to recognise Israel and rejected the Zionist "project". It fundamentally does not want there to be separate Palestinian and Jewish states.

9. Israel says it is not at war with the State of Palestine or the Palestinian people. It is only at war with Hamas. However, its actions in the West Bank are not consistent with peace.

10. Israel has never acknowledged the right of Palestinians to self-determination and their own state. The Israeli Government and lawmakers have repeatedly rejected a Palestinian state. Last week, the Knesset passed a measure indicating support for annexation of the West Bank.

11. The Foreign Affairs Committee of the UK Parliament found that Israel was attempting to annex the West Bank and much of Gaza to prevent formation of a viable Palestinian state. It said the UK Govt must recognise the State of Palestine "while it still could".
