Biggest takeaway from the Quantum Bitcoin Summit this week: the fear and uncertainty about quantum computing may very well be a greater threat than quantum computing itself.
We should strive to create more certainty around how Bitcoin would respond to such a threat if it arises.
Keynes and others predicted efficiency gains from technology would lead to more leisure and less work by the average person.
Where is our life of leisure? Life is easier but Keynes failed to account for lifestyle inflation. Most folks are trapped keeping up with the Joneses.
I, for one, certainly hope that advancement of cryptographically relevant quantum computing stalls out due to insurmountable laws of physics.
But hope is not a strategy.
