Imo an underappreciated benefit of Proof-of-Stake lies in the competitive dynamics for validators and the activation of the token holder community.
Validators (and more recently also LSTs/vaults/curators) basically do BD/institutional education on behalf of chains, as well as create tooling, research, and content benefiting the ecosystem in the pursuit of attracting stake.
In a Proof-of-Governance model, there may be no additional incentive for validators to do anything but running infra as they don't stand to gain additional revenues.

Restaked capital can be a powerful tool to increase the cost of attack/likelihood of whale manipulation on a prediction market resolving mechanism like UMA.
Simple example: instead of 100% of the voting power being in $UMA, we can design a system that requires agreement from both $UMA and (harder to manipulate) restaked $ETH stake.
There are many ways to design such a system and it might not even require slashing and use stake purely for signaling -- resulting in a very low cost of capital that's further amplified through the ability to restake across use cases.

I'm very excited about officially announcing @frachtisvc. Xave is one of the most talented and hardest working people I've ever worked with.
I loved working with him at @ChorusOne one and have greatly enjoyed building Frachtis with him.
I have no doubt that Frachtis will do extremely well investing in the best founders and helping them succeed.

I'm incredibly saddened to share that yesterday, my co-founder and closest friend Meher passed away after a long fight against leukemia.
I met Meher back in 2014. At the time, he was working for Novartis, but he had a deep interest in cryptocurrencies. He was an Epicenter listener and wanted us to feature a project that he was an advisor for.
