Israel issued evacuation orders for parts of southern Deir al-Balah on Sunday. OCHA estimates that 50,000-80,000 Palestinians were in this area of Gaza at the time the orders were announced. UN staff will stay in Deir al-Balah and has shared coordinates with the IDF, OCHA says.

"Find a solution, we are exhausted and we are tired," Mahmoud Al-Qassas says. "We spend days and weeks waking up and sleeping while we are hungry." The World Food Programme has issued new warnings about the humanitarian situation in Gaza, as UN agency heads met with Israeli officials today to address aid distribution problems. Currently, there are hundreds of trucks worth of aid sitting in Gaza that hasn't been distributed to Palestinian civilians in need. Another meeting on the issue will take place tomorrow morning, I'm told by a senior Israeli official. In northern Gaza today, dozens of Palestinians were killed by IDF fire near the Zikim area. The IDF confirmed that troops fired toward the crowd, but disputes the exact number killed. The GHF referenced reports of 30 killed, while local media numbers were twice that. We are not reporting an exact number, given the difficulties in confirming this specific information.

NEW: UN agency heads and Israeli officials met today to discuss the humanitarian situation in Gaza amid concern of rising hunger among Palestinian civilians, I'm told by a senior Israeli official. The UN is asking for more guarantees from the Israelis about the movement of trucks inside Gaza. The Israelis say they are willing to allow these trucks to move through the Morag corridor, through Salah al-Din, through crossing 147, through gate 96 or through the Erez crossing. "We will do whatever they want," this official said. "But at the end of they day, they need to take the pallets out." Currently there are 700 trucks worth of aid sitting on the Palestinian side of the Kerem Shalom crossing, according to this official. An additional 100 trucks worth of aid is near Zikim in the north. The current plan is to allow UN aid to go directly to bakeries, central kitchen or warehouses, but the disagreements about distribution plans must first be resolved. We have reached out to UN agencies for comment. Another meeting will take place tomorrow morning to try and resolve distribution issues that would allow for more of this international aid to reach Palestinian civilians.

Airdrops of aid into Gaza are currently being discussed with three regional countries, I'm told by a senior Israeli official. One of those countries is actively planning to proceed with airdrops. These discussions started three weeks ago. This answer was in response to a question I asked about other avenues for getting aid to Palestinian civilians who are in desperate need of food and supplies.
