My conversation @ZachBDell on building Base Power
If you are interested in energy, the grid, and how each are changing, this is an awesome overview
Even since we recorded, Base is scaling at an impressive clip
A company, and entrepreneur, to watch

energy underpins almost everything we do in the digital and physical world so we spend a lot of time talking about it @a16z
be a fly on the wall for one of our conversations on the latest pod episode! @rmcentush @davidu @eriktorenberg

US per capita energy usage peaked in 1973. China's has increased 9x since then.
We forgot how to build mega projects. Our grid has ossified.
Our partner @rmcentush explains:

The Texas grid collapsed in 2021 during a big storm and everyone said it was proof that deregulation doesn't work. Since then, the private markets have flooded the Texas grid with solar and batteries, and the opposite seems to be true. Technology heals, capitalism wins ❤️🩹

Capacity Markets are a non-solution to a problem that never existed. Be like ERCOT - let price signals work, install tons of solar and storage, manage 100 degree weather with reasonable prices for consumers
