1/ Immortalizing ‘everything vs nothing’ on @ethereum.
At the end of last year, @glitchmarfa welcomed @joepease to Marfa, Texas.
2/ On November 19th 2024, @joepease released ‘everything vs nothing’.
Thirty video artworks that live on the ethereum blockchain.
Forever connected to a 1/1 artwork that never would.
3/ If you go searching, you’ll find there are no long interviews with Joe. No artist statements. No grand exclamations or explanations.
Asked about what inspires him, Pease says:
“I want to tell more stories.”

4/ Across ‘everything vs nothing’, we see the artist’s way of seeing.
At times, the perspective is detached, viewed from above; in others, the camera moves fluidly with the scene and subject.
5/ A suited man works at his desk.
He organizes papers.
It is difficult not to see oneself in the monotony:
Does my life resemble this?
Do I want it to?
6/ Across each video artwork, interpretation falters.
There are no secrets to decode. Nothing to decipher.
Only a familiar world for us to track closely.
Fragments and loops.
7/ All footage in 'everything vs nothing' is shot by the artist himself.
Yet the saturated colors give an impression of readymade or found archival material. Combined with Pease’s editing, the saturation estranges the imagery, rendering depicted places + faces unrecognizable.
8/ Such is the film’s main character — without a story or face.
Someone or no one, telling anyone’s story.
And while there is a sense of existential isolation that pervades 'everything vs nothing', Pease seems to be more concerned with showing the world than commenting on it.
9/ To celebrate and honor Joe’s residency in Marfa, our curation team at @glitchmarfa is honored to immortalize @joepease’s ‘everything vs nothing’ with a digital exhibition poster on @ethereum.
Joe’s poster will live inside @glitchmarfa’s ‘Exhibition Posters’ collection, powered by @TransientLabs.

10/ To our @glitchmarfa 'Full Set' holders -- we're grateful for your continued support since our first internet exhibition in May 2023.
A few moments ago, all unique ‘Full Set’ holders – a total of 169 unique wallets – were airdropped one ‘everything vs nothing’ exhibition poster each.
You can now view your poster directly from any wallet interface, or at
11/ For all other @glitchmarfa supporters or @joepease collectors – we’re excited to give folks the opportunity to redeem a ‘everything vs nothing’ poster – for one week only – using @TransientLabs new ‘Send and Receive’ contract.
Instructions:
If you own *any* previous @glitchmarfa ‘Exhibition Poster’ from the @glitchmarfa E30D series, from now until June 24th @ 9:00 AM (PT), you can *send* that poster to the below contract address using OpenSea, MetaMask, Rainbow Wallet, Rabby, or any other NFT transfer function:
0x43Dc7a00710b0d7e369B544DC6E605ed609f1515
When you send one of the previous thirteen (13) ‘Exhibition Posters’ to the above address, the contract will return the fourteenth (14) poster (‘everything vs nothing’) to your wallet in the same transaction. Your wallet should show you this in the transaction simulation.
The redemption window for ‘everything vs nothing’ starts today and closes July 1st @ 9:00 AM (PT).
One final *important* note – please make sure to send only one ‘Exhibition Poster’ token/object at a time when using the “Send and Receive” contract -- sending two posters in the same transaction will fail the transaction. However, please feel free to *redeem* as many ‘everything vs nothing’ posters as you’d like during the one week window – as long as you’re sending one poster at a time.
For those that want to learn more about the contract wizardry powering the redemption, you can review notes for the new ‘Send and Receive’ product from @TransientLabs here:

12/ Our curation team is grateful for your continued support.
More details on the next @glitchmarfa project later this week.
