Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon on Mamdani’s rent freeze idea to fix NYC affordable housing: “The concept  of freezing rents or rent controls, this is not new. This has been around for 100 years, and you can go back over 100 years and look at lots of times when that policy has been put in place in New York, and every single time the result was less affordable housing, less good housing. You can't find an academic study that suggests that this is a good policy.”
