All “woke” stuff aside it fun to think about really optimal admissions strategies — do you want to go a school that’s 100% smart studious nerds or is the experience improved by blending in some cokehead legacies who throw fun parties at the Spee?

A lot of schools do affirmative action for male applicants, not for social justice reasons but because they reasonably believe women will have more fun on a campus that’s closer to 50-50. American higher ed is a very competitive, customer-driven market.
