There needs to be a way to tell you that you're going to need to update your version of Zoom/Teams/etc at the time you get the meeting invite and not at the time of "I'm already 5 minutes late and the meeting is starting what do you mean I have to restart my computer for the changes to take effect" No, "use Google Meets" is not an answer for when the other party picks the software and it's the one you don't often use and that's why it probably needs to update.
