I'm relatively good at mental arithmetic and hand sketching isometric designs with perspective, but no better than a bright high schooler 80 years ago, before calculators. A bit of practice and it's a nice party trick. But a surprising number of people think it's completely unattainable, that you get it along with the Caltech PhD.
