i feel just a little bad for the Astronomer Affair people at this point they should just lean into it and get married and become Instagram influencers but the whole thing underscores how the pervasiveness of cameras has killed any concept of privacy. indeed, i don’t think younger generations at all appreciate or even expect privacy any longer. boiled alive, if you will and you’re not ready for a world where anyone can run AI models which do facial recognition 24/7 nation-states already have this and the ID database ofc private companies have it too, but not clear they use it like this yet- at least not publicly soon, they will all collect and sell your physical data. they will track what shops you go to, what you buy, how long you spend looking at items, etc. go to East Asia. cameras are EVERYWHERE already knowing where you are and who you’re with is the simple stuff
