It’s because of the Teachers Unions. We spend more money on education per student than almost every developed country in the world, yet 40% of US fourth graders read below “basic” understanding level. In other words… they can’t read. Data is even worse in Democrat states.

The Democratic Party basically never talks about improving primary education as a national issue and I find it super bizarre.
Teachers Union is the largest and most powerful union in America. They constantly fight for more money and protection, even as America’s public education gets worse every year. The focus isn’t on the children or education, it’s the teacher’s jobs and benefits.
