This is your reminder that if you designate yourself an organ donor at the DMV, your family will not be able to intervene to prevent the donation. If you *don't,* you can clarify your wishes in an advance directive or allow your family to make the decision

In other words, removing yourself from the organ donor registry does not mean that you can't donate your organs under any circumstances. It just permits you and/or your family more control if something terrible were to happen to you

I've already drafted an advance directive indicating I'd like to bring my pregnancy to term if applicable. I'm considering adding my intent to donate only if it does not interfere with that process, and only if brain death is declared (not "circulatory death" or "cardiac death")
