It’s kind of insane how many people don’t understand how a board of directors works. Let’s break it down: The CEO isn’t a king. They’re an employee. Their power comes from the board. The board of directors is elected by shareholders. Their job? Protect the company and its owners. That means the board hires, fires, and can put executives (including the CEO) on leave at any time. Owning the title “CEO” doesn’t mean you can’t be benched. If the board loses confidence, you’re out. That’s corporate governance 101.
