If you’re in your 20s in tech right now, a couple of years at OpenAI, Anthropic or a great AI startup will give you 10x the career juice of any MBA or graduate degree (and a lot less debt).
Follow me on LinkedIn for more career advice 🫡😂 if you include “or a great AI startup”, meaning the top 100-150 or so, which was really the point of the tweet, everyone is hiring a lot, and yes those are highly coveted positions but not all job openings require brain surgery level qualification. A couple of recent conversations with folks with strong credentials inspired the post as for many, joining a startup early in your career is still considered risky and not great training (too chaotic) so they didn’t really consider it for the immediate future - and the examples of people getting laid off at Scale AI (considered by many as a 100% sure bet) shows they’re not completely wrong now, if I had any idea after all those years on this app which tweet may go viral, i would spend more than 30 seconds writing it while in a taxi lol 😂
@VCBrags But seriously: if you include “or at a great AI startup” (say, top 100-150), they all are hiring aggressively and not every job requires brain surgery level credentials. Many folks still think those are just too risky and chaotic a job early in their careers
