Kaieteur Falls in central Guyana is one of the world’s strongest single‑drop waterfalls. Water from the Potaro River plunges 226 m (741 ft) straight down, then tumbles over more cascades for a total height of 251 m (822 ft). With an average flow of 663 m³ per second, it combines great height and enormous volume, about 4½ times taller than Niagara Falls and twice as high as Victoria Falls.
