Profit really is the the lowest common denominator of humanities driving forces. It’s arguably the simplest and most efficient but at the cost of virtually everything else. We’re well aware of the damage to attention span, social cohesion, you name it broski and some company milked it for a dime. Trading a shittier world to our children in exchange for monetary gain is crazy. I think unfortunately there isn’t a better option atm because you can’t unite billions through their better nature, you can only do it via their individual personal benefit. Things get way too heady and abstract otherwise. There is no point to this rambling I just didn’t feel like it writing it down in a notebook
