The cypherpunks weren’t trying to gamify finance. They were trying to exit surveillance. Web3 was supposed to finish that mission. Not by speculating on freedom. But by engineering it. Not by promising privacy. But by making it unavoidable. If your system leaks by default, it’s not Web3. It’s just a more expensive Web2. Privacy isn’t optional. It’s the whole point.
