A simple presentation tip for econ/finance PhD students: nest your bullet points! The human soul yearns for order. A slide should never be 6-7 separate points. It should be 2-3 big points, each with 1-3 sub-points, perhaps with one or two sub-sub-points

For some reason, listeners have a much easier time parsing 2-3 big points with sub-points than a list of 6-7. Also helps to use \pause to get the points to show up one-by-one, use bold and underline and color, and other visual aids. It's pretty fast once you get used to it
