Something to think about : A car is sold in Denver brand new for $50k. The buyer pays sales tax and registration of about $6000. And another $3000 for 2 more years of registration. The original buyer sells it in 3 years for $35k . The 2nd buyer pays $4500 in taxes and registration and holds the car for 3 more years at a cost of $2000 more in registration fees. The 2nd buyer then sells the car to the 3rd buyer for $25k . That 3rd party now pays $3000 and holds it for 3 years for $1500 in additional registration. So . Now at this point after only 8 or 9 years the government has received $20k of tax revenue on a $50k product . That is what we call theft .
