BOS was great learning experience.
It gave the path to Chain Signatures and the ideas of Chain Abstraction.
We learnt about category building vs product building.
We imagined how AI is going to bring fully generated experiences inside a blockchain powered super app.
We saw the importance of social on engagement albeit lacked the approach to bootstrap it effectively.
Grateful for learning and ideas pushing NEAR forward.

seen a lot of confusion lately about BOS on @NEARProtocol and let me remind you that this chapter is closed. and here is the real story:
BOS (blockchain operating system) was NEAR early vision to unify web3 through composable frontends, social apps, and fastauth. but as of mid-2024, it’s been archived. no new features, no updates, it’s read-only.
the ecosystem shifted toward to something more powerful:
→ chain abstraction
→ intent-based infra
→ AI agents
→ modular, composable apps (without a BOS layer)
BOS played its part. now it’s time for the next chapter.
builders are focused on infra that scales across chains, not just one ecosystem.
this is the real NEAR.
