There’s a massive surge in targeted scams against crypto teams. In just two weeks, I was invited to a credible community podcast where both the original X and Telegram accounts of the inviter were compromised. Now, a normal Telegram message from a credible company, with a normal Calendly and genuine Zoom event for a call. I background-checked the guy on LinkedIn, and it’s indeed an impersonator. It used to be that the hook was asking you to download a fake VOIP application, but that’s not the case anymore. It must involve exploiting default permissions during screen sharing or more elaborate social engineering. Keep your guard up.
