I ran for U.S. Senate and I’m here to say that the people in Congress - both in the House and Senate - DO NOT HAVE HARD JOBS. They give themselves so many breaks and benefits for doing NOTHING. Yes, I hold them and their jobs in contempt. They don’t even read the bills they vote on. People like @SpeakerPelosi @SenSchumer @LindseyGrahamSC @tedcruz have an attitude of: the bill is 1,000 pages - you can’t possibly expect me to read it all. They have the easiest gig in America, yet they complain they’re underpaid because they have to maintain two homes - one in Washington and the other in their home state. Then work on changing the law and allowing for votes to take place virtually. Maybe then, they’ll actually spend time in their states and districts. Why do you think @EdMarkey wants to run again? He’s 80 years old and has been in Washington for FIFTY YEARS? This guy has done nothing for MA and is 💯 a hypocrite. He claims to be for minorities - yet when it came to black kids going to white schools in his city he opposed desegregation efforts. He’s for blacks, just not in his neighborhood. That’s right, he’s been in office so long - he fought desegregation efforts. I guess that explains the privileged white-guilt he suffers from. @EdMarkey’s first year in Washington, Red Sox tickets at Fenway were $1.25. This guy was in Washington for almost 30 years before the Red Sox beat the curse! Gerald Ford was the president when Ed Markey won his first election for Congress on November 2, 1976. 🤦‍♂️
