Today I learned the rumored identity behind one of the anon accounts who’s been subtweeting me on the whole ‘$400k + 1%’ thing… I hadn’t seen their posts until friends starting reaching out to me and am not too bothered by what an anon account says about me and my work, however… If the rumors are true, I’ve had very strange, disturbing encounters with this person before - conference stalking, demeaning conversations, insults to my appearance, cornering me, trying to spread baseless rumors. This person is young, and I hope they can get help, grow out of this and not cause serious damage to themselves or others. I, on the other hand, am old and I could give a f less what you say behind your anon account. To everyone reading this - stay safe. There are abusive, manipulative ppl in our industry who should be avoided at all costs. Trust your gut when something feels off and don’t let the anons get you down. To the person behind the account - please get help. You are at the beginning of your career and life and this is no way to live.
