OpenChat: The Ultimate Engine of the Open Octopus AI World The OpenLedger mainnet is about to launch, and the official Twitter recently leaked a demo video of the OpenChat feature, which is very interesting as it basically demonstrates all the functionalities. I watched it a dozen times and finally understood the ambitious goals of the little octopus. It will become a gateway-level application for the mainnet, using the most familiar interaction methods to perfectly integrate the PoA model into the ecosystem, and there’s more... Let’s dive in! ⬇️ What is OpenChat? In simple terms, it’s a "decentralized, 100% on-chain, money-making ChatGPT or Github"; of course, that’s a bit too simplistic, as making money is just a surface phenomenon. While other AI tools are charging fees, restricting usage, and asking for payment, OpenLedger has evolved to be transparent, open, and rewarding those who contribute. So OpenChat is a decentralized platform where people can build, share, interact with AI, and receive on-chain proof and incentives. OpenChat is the on-chain messaging and coordination layer of @OpenledgerHQ, serving as our communication platform in the decentralized AI world. How does PoA work? PoA: Proof of Attribution, literally translated as "Attribution Proof"; I previously suggested translating it as "Reward Proof" which I feel is easier to understand. OpenChat can permanently record all your actions on-chain and make them verifiable. Users who validate that your contributions are valuable will receive token incentives. These actions may include: ▰ Chat content with AI ▰ Uploaded datasets ▰ Optimized models ▰ Self-created prompts or code Contributors can earn tokens and other types of rewards based on the value and impact of their work, truly a "contribution mining" concept. What can I do with OpenChat? Make money (not really. Making money is definitely possible, but specifically, OpenChat can support many tasks. At its simplest, it can be used as an AI assistant for asking questions, similar to ChatGPT, but it is open and decentralized; you can also correct, remind, or tag the content AI responds with, contributing knowledge on specific topics or questions. All of this is open collaboration, can be forked, and mixed, with ways to trace data back to its source on-chain. At a higher level, you can share AI models, upload fine-tuned, optimized models or training datasets, allowing OpenChat to become richer and more precise. What does OpenChat mean for the little octopus? That’s a good question, one I ask and answer myself. Personally, I feel that OpenChat basically expresses 50% of what Openledger aims to achieve with a small product, similar to an MVP but genuinely usable. As the mainnet launches, rather than extensively introducing its technology, it’s better to have a usable product that allows users to understand the big goals through their experience with the product. Chatting, building, sharing, and receiving incentives; the more people participate, the richer the data, the more abundant the on-chain proof, and the more incentives there are, leading to more users and developers. This is the little octopus's flywheel strategy.
