if you manage to maintain some kind of faith and optimism in human nature & willingness to take a chance on other people within this industry after seeing a lot of it, you have probably attained some sort saintly beatitude. . .
Whether we can fix these systems w current knowledge is an open question.
But AI will make us better at analyzing and modifying complex systems, so I'm optimistic.
My bet is that over the next few years, AI will help us turn handwavey mechanism design into a *real* science.
