seeing the way the Pokemon hobby moves in 2025 makes me so much more bullish on trading crypto assets let's say you buy a Pokemon card on eBay at a listing price of $1,000 after fees and shipping, you pay $1,100 if the market price of the card is still $1,000 and you go to sell it in person, Pokemon vendors in person will only pay you 80% or less of your asking price which means you would only get $800 for your card the good thing about selling cards in person is you will get cash, but MOST vendors in person will not pay over 80% (that's just how it is) if you tried to re-sell your $1,000 card on eBay, you have to pay eBay fees and you will only get $870 for your card (eBay fees are ~13%) so to make $100 in profit on a $1,000 Pokemon card purchased on eBay and then sold on eBay, you would actually need the market price of your card to go to $1,379 if you're trading crypto, the only fees you generally pay are swap fees which can be as low as 0.1% if you're using something like Jupiter I did not account for taxes or anything in this example think about how clunky selling items like Pokemon cards are compared to crypto assets it's insane when you break it down like this
