🧵 3 Common Mistakes in Protocol Camp Applications and How to Fix Them Applications are open until August 15, and while we’ve seen some strong submissions, we’ve also noticed a few avoidable mistakes. Here’s how to make yours stand out 👇
1️⃣ Thinking you need Web3 experience, or being too vague The application asks about experience related to your field of interest. Even though you don’t need prior Web3 experience to apply, we would like you to share: – Small projects you’ve built – Hackathons, freelance work, internships – Skills like coding, design, or PM tools – What sparked your Web3 interest Give us something concrete.
2️⃣ Writing generic motivation answers Saying “I want to learn Web3” or “I’m interested in blockchain” doesn’t explain why you’re excited or what you hope to achieve. Instead: – Share what part of Web3 excites you (DeFi, NFTs, infra, etc.) – Talk about the problem you want to solve – Explain how Protocol Camp will help you grow Show your why.
3️⃣ Treating this like a one-time opportunity, not part of your bigger journey Some applicants focus only on what they’ll gain during the camp, but we want to know where you're headed after it ends. Instead, help us see: – What you want to do post-camp (build, launch, join, lead) – How you want to contribute to the Web3 space long-term – Why this program is a meaningful step in that direction You don’t need a perfect plan, but show us that you’re building toward something bigger.
