web4, social monies, brand coins and more one of the core motivations of my web4 push is that we need to move from nihilism to optimism, and from creating assets for the sake of speculation, to creating monies that serve as powerful aligners for any kind of social cause. to be clear, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the nihilistic speculation, it is just my personal motivations and where i think we should aim for as an industry. for example, i believe that the beauty of bitcoin lies in the fact that it is *both* a valuable asset as well as align a massive community behind the power of decentralized assets. both pieces are crucial - if it’s not an valuable asset, no one will care, but if it did not stand for something important, it would be impossible for it to grow and spread the way it did. (see snippet) of course, we have always been clear that that's our goal at Jupiter - to build a top tier community & platform focused on driving the decentralized meta forward, with JUP as core alignment mechanism. achieving that platform/token alignment for Jupiverse/JUP has been challenging especially the context of a few hundred thousand extremely passionate members - but we are never gonna give up trying. anyhow, since that initial formulation, i have been looking out for new projects that fitted this dual criteria - ability to be a key asset, as well as being a symbol for moving forward a social cause. having been a big fan of @osf_rekt for a long time now, i bumped into the project, and one of his key writings around the brand coin thesis: and of course, he executed on that thesis hard with @rektdrinks leveraging the alignment power of tokens to push a real world product with great effect so far, even hitting 7/11 stores. we got to jamming on the phone, and vibed hard on the idea of web4 being essential to the future of crypto, and brand coins as one the key metas to bring forth a new class of assets that elevate past memes to be something that is widely accepted and pushed forth. i hope this jupiter collaboration with @rektdrinks will be a good way to introduce the jupiverse to both the project, drive the idea of brand coins and push the concept of web4, and if we are lucky, be the start of something amazing. hopefully everyone will have some fun with this collab, grab some super cool drinks, accumulate some points, earn some @RektCoin. we will be stocking it up in all our offices fr! 🐈🐈 PS: on a separate note, @osf_rekt is one of the most dynamic and effective communicators i've ever met, and excited to be driving the web4 and brandcoin meta together with him!
