Got back out to Eagle Crest Sunday morning for the first time in about 5-6 years. It’s quietly turned into one of the best public-resort collegiate courses (EMU) in the US. Probably hasn’t gotten much pub because it’s a gradual, decade-plus project and not a big splashy reopening. The greens are way better and interesting now, and all the tree clearing has opened up the lake in a big way throughout. Probably a better round than MSU’s Forest Akers at this point. (FA felt a little over-treed and long in the tooth last time I saw it). I could nitpick a few holes and the goose poop is way too noticeable but it’s pretty great value ($100) Midwest resort course in a metro area (St John’s is $150+)
I love this drivable par 4 but it’s wide open short and left of the green. Take the bunker right of the green and put it short left instead
