What I love about Toly is that he is truth seeking above all even if the truth is inconvenient. This is what great engineering is about. Yes, most memecoins and most NFTs have little intrinsic financial value even if they have a price. He never said they weren't good or that they shouldn't exist. It isn't the acceptable and convenient thing for him to say but it's how he thinks about the world and we all know what point he was making. Reasonable minds can disagree on the degree to which it is true. The opposite is way worse, and there's a lot more of that in crypto. Influential leaders around crypto constantly utter things that they know are not true, but that aligns themselves with a populist view to score points and advance their agenda. Truth > all
