Conversational speech is ~150-200 words per minute Touch typing on smart phones is ~30-40 wpm The reasons for having a keyboard on a smartphone are: 1) Precision editing 2) Privacy 3) Emojis What else?
~245M PCs sold in 2024, ~315M PCs sold in 2014. PCs seem dead but an at-home devices seem worth exploring (inspired by Loom robot lamp). Keyboard typing WPM averages much higher than smart phones at 50-80 WPM so voice-to-text efficiency still a ~3x improvement. I rarely use emojis when on my laptop and when I do the mouse directed search widget works fine. Privacy is a non-factor because you're in your own home (?). Would be a struggle for households with multiple people working remote and certainly not suitably for existing work environments.
