One of China's most well-funded robotics companies told me yesterday that they don't bother sending any robots to West even for demo purposes unless they have a surplus at home. Why? Western companies take too long to buy anything. The sales cycles are too long. If they keep the robot at home, they'll sell it. The sales cycle in China is often measured in weeks or days - whereas Western sales cycles are months or years.
