Ethereum is 10 years old, and somehow, it has brought me more joy than I ever imagined possible. Imagine living through: - The DAO hack - DoS spam attacks - The ICO Mania - Parity multisig hacks - Fomo3d - Ethereum Killers - Exchanges getting hacked again & again - DeFi Summer & NFT craze - Rise of MEV, Flash Loans & PBS - The Merge to PoS - FTX implosion - Rollup Adoption (esp @arbitrum) - Spot ETFs & Growing Regulatory Clarity Ethereum should have died - multiple times - but it didn't. Not only did it survive, Ethereum thrived through countless black swan events. And through it all, there has been, and still is, a massive community of people who geniunely believe Ethereum is the most important and interesting thing in their lives. I was adopted into the Ethereum community after years working on Bitcoin. I found a culture that fit, a space where I could grow, and people I now consider friends. Ethereum helped me become a better academic and teacher. Sometimes I forget it is now 2025. The early years - 2015 to 2019 - are behind us. They remain the best years of my life. I, like many others, am blessed to have lived through it. Thanks to all the devs, nerds, academics, retail, tradfi, institutions and suits. We are all in this together. And I truly believe Ethereum's most exciting years are still to come.
