Small creators often say things like "large creators don't want to be my friend" IME this happens after being burned by so many internet relationships People only want to friend as long as you provide a status or financial boost to them. If that goes away, they may turn on you to boost status or $$$ through another connection Sad truth is that many people who have been online for a while often have many of these experiences that have led them to shut people out A good group can totally revitalize your trust in people, help you create better boundaries, and remind you what friendship actually looks like vs. the more transactional relationships you typically find online It's a nuanced conversation of course, but one I'm accumulating a lot of lessons in right now :) Find your people & double-down with them
