I hit up WorkOS’s MCP Night 2.0 at the Regency Ballroom last night.
Full production: polished demos, crisp animations. Rock-concert energy for MCP nerds.

MCP is exploding. Public trackers show ~5–6k servers since MCP Night 1.0. No single registry, but the line’s up and to the right.
Theme of the night: authorization & security. Not “who can log in,” but who can do what, when, and on whose behalf.
Demos ranged from hackathon-scrappy to conference-grade. Tons shipping; still very early.
WorkOS is launching a secure MCP product. They already bridge devs <> enterprise IT (SSO/SCIM/audit), so policy + enforcement for agents is the obvious next step.
mcp-ui (@liadyosef, @Idosamien) was my favorite demo. Agents can return interactive UI, not just text. Huge UX + safety unlock.
Supported by Postman, Goose, Shopify.
VS Code (@code) looks like it now implements essentially the entire MCP spec. Smart move.
I love this talk format: “How VS code solves the 5 biggest problems with MCP.” Tooling that unblocks adoption > hot takes.
@ericzakariasson (@cursor_ai) posted to LinkedIn via his own MCP server. Nice proof that real external workflows can live in the MCP pattern.
Richard Moot (@blockopensource) demoed a pattern mapping 200+ Square API endpoints into an MCP - not a 1:1 mirror.
Cool to see an MCP abstraction that keeps the entire API surface area usable without losing power.
Thanks for having me @grinich/@WorkOS. See ya at the next one!
