People will say that the stats in DC - and other places - show falling crime rates. And yet it's not uncommon to walk into a grocery or drug store and have to ask a clerk to open up a locked case to buy something like shaving cream. Sometimes you have to use your eyes and common sense, realize the data is fudged or just doesn't capture much.
