Yes, I saw Scott Bessent say "we're not going to be buying that." I watched it several times. To me, it comes across as a semi-vague or scattered thought. Also, and more importantly: It seems unlikely that Bessent would unilaterally dismiss the proposed Bitcoin Act, and Trump's reported strong support of it. Bessent may be referring to non-legislative methods of acquiring BTC. Or he may have been awkwardly stating the obvious: the US won't be "buying" the BTC reserve it already has. For now, more clarity needed, which I expect will come.
