This month I’ve been checking in on my flower at Absence, a project by @material_work, and it has me thinking about how attention is shaped by digital media, and about artworks that use software to encode forms of attention.

how does it work being an artist for 6 months every 4 years? never really understood that.

With all this done and public now, I would like to thank everyone who helped me with this project. I normally keep my creative process limited to a very tight and private little circle, but a few people stepped in and lifted me up: First of all, Mimi at @nguyenwahed , for first presenting this workat her gallery in NYC, and being the best teammate I could ever ask for and we pushed it out into the world. @matto__matto and @gremplin made major contributions to "Zantar" specifically. I think you'll be able to see Gremplin's contributions immediately, and it gave me incredible joy to release something that had Gremplin's spirit in it. 👀@matto__matto helped me build a fun little mini-game that was just good enough to overshadow every other part of the artwork that I slaved over for half a year 😂😂, because Matt is smart enough to do that in his sleep. @mackxdav has been a constant source of support and energy, and would chip in with advice, critique, and logistical support. Thank you to @mayaonthenet and Nancy Baker Cahill for offering their input on "Ladyboss", and sharing their experiences with me as I was figuring out how to write that character.
