If you’re angry that someone falsely called all faith-professing Catholics and Orthodox in Gaza fake Christians and Hamas supporters, to justify any violence that might be committed against them, then you are actually the problem—demonic even—according to James Lindsay.

Trump gives Lindsey Graham his “complete and total endorsement” while going after Thomas Massie, the most principled and honest person in Congress. Not only should we not fire Thomas Massie, we need to hire a few hundred more just like him and send the neocons and NPCs packing.

In executing a law, any provision for the protection of an individual right will be construed as narrowly as possible, to give the most limited effect, and any provision for government power will be construed as broadly as possible, to give effect even to implausible readings. This is one reason why drafting a new law can be challenging and so many people with good intentions fail at it. There’s also a tendency to overlook the interplay with existing laws and practices, including ones that are unconstitutional. If you draft legislation as though the government is currently following the rules in related contexts, you are paving the way for government abuse in the new context. Activists who help draft laws understand the mechanics of their field of expertise, but they rarely understand the mechanics of government. Over the years, I’ve seen so many of them proclaim victory in the signing of a new law they helped pass only to have them return a few years later to curse it.

Like others, Christians in Gaza have suffered so much. Several of my cousins were killed when an IDF airstrike damaged the Orthodox parish. Now the IDF has hit the Catholic parish, and more Christians have been lost. May their memories be eternal. Pray for this ancient community.

There’s something so incredibly damaging in those files that Trump would rather nuke his base, in a desperate effort to get everyone to move on, than publicly release the information.

Okay, so now I’m absolutely convinced there’s a cover-up.

As President Trump also just said: No Epstein. He really, really does not want anyone talking about Epstein or ever bringing Epstein up to him. He can’t believe anyone would mention Epstein again. Case closed. Move along. Nothing to see here.

Congress received a single rescissions package of $9.4 billion from the White House on June 3. It still has not passed. Not a single cut has been made. Since that time, the federal government has spent an additional $690 billion and accrued another $190 billion in debt.

The official account from the DOJ and FBI on Jeffrey Epstein does not come across as credible. I’m not a big conspiracy theory guy (incompetence and indifference explain so much in government), but it seems highly likely something is being covered up here.

The reason some libertarians fall into the trap of thinking the GOP is worth saving is they significantly underestimate the difficulty of getting even one Thomas Massie into Congress as a Republican. Heck, the GOP is pulling out all the stops right now to remove the one we have! What GOP leaders want is someone who sounds like Massie but who bends to their will at every critical moment. Those types of candidates can be found and elected in droves. In this context, they are also utterly useless and detrimental to liberty. They serve primarily to give the GOP establishment cover for the worst abuses.
